As part of my residency with the Highland Culture Collective, I've been working with the community at Am Fasgadh, a mental health drop-in centre in Portree on the Isle of Skye.
During 2022 and 2023 we have been listening together to radio, field recordings, conversations, birdsong, sound effects and music, and letting these shared listening experiences guide us towards discussion and creativity.
These sessions have led towards a slow-radio project, the first episode of which is below: Signs and Signals, in which we discuss the sign at the turn off to Am Fasgadh, bad language, medication and ghost cars, as well as exploring how we listen to ourselves and each other.
